2. What Data We Process

2.1 Mission Membership

When you apply for membership via BankID, we receive your: first name, last name, address, postal code, city/town, national identity number (*fødselsnummer*), email address, phone number, and date of joining.

The national identity number is required because the membership list is submitted to *Statsforvalteren* (the State Administrator) for registration and to receive state and municipal funding. Only the national identity number is transmitted to the state system—without names or surnames.

2.2 Inquiries

If you use the contact form or request a callback, we process your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.

2.3 Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we retain your email address until you unsubscribe.

2.4 Website Usage

We process anonymized visitor statistics—see Section 6 for details.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Religious affiliation belongs to special categories of personal data under Article 9 of the GDPR. We process such data exclusively on the basis of your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)), which you provide when completing the membership application.

Contact details are processed on the basis of consent or to respond to your inquiry. Analytical and marketing tools function only after you have given consent in the cookie banner.

4. Data Retention Period

Member data is stored for the entire duration of membership and for up to 2 years after its termination—solely for documentation purposes required by public authorities. Inquiries are deleted once they have been fully resolved. Newsletter email addresses are deleted upon unsubscribing.

5. Data Sharing and Processors

Member data is not shared with anyone except public authorities within the scope of registration and funding procedures.

To maintain our website and communications, we use data processors: a hosting provider, a BankID authentication provider, and the email delivery service Brevo. When marketing cookies are accepted, data is transferred to Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.

The national identity number is never transferred to marketing or analytics systems. Pages containing the membership application form do not contain any tracking codes.

6. Cookies

The website uses necessary cookies for core functionality and marketing cookies (Meta Pixel), which are activated only after your consent. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the link in the site footer. A complete list is available in our cookie policy.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, request the correction of inaccurate data, and request data erasure. You may withdraw your consent at any time by submitting a written withdrawal notice to the board. Please send inquiries to post@olavsmisjon.no.

If you believe that we are processing your data in violation of applicable regulations, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (*Datatilsynet*) at www.datatilsynet.no.
