Volunteering
The Mission of Saint Olav is a community of people who want to support one another, help others, create a vibrant environment, and do something good together.
We are looking for people who would like to become part of our volunteer team. You do not need to have a lot of free time or any specific qualifications. Even a few hours a week can make a significant contribution to our shared work. Some volunteer tasks can be carried out entirely online – from home and at a time that suits you.
Some people may prefer working with children and young people. Others may be more interested in organisational work, information activities, or communication. Some can contribute through transport, music, photography, or simply by being a reliable person who is ready to help when needed.
For us, “perfect skills” are not what matters most. What matters is responsibility, compassion, and a desire to do good.
What can you gain from volunteering with the Mission?
- the opportunity to be part of a vibrant community;
- new connections and a network of like-minded people;
- experience in organisational work and teamwork;
- opportunities to practise Norwegian and develop communication skills;
- the opportunity to use and develop your talents and abilities;
- participation in important projects for the Orthodox community in Norway;
- the sense that your contribution genuinely makes a difference in people’s lives.
The Mission reimburses volunteers for direct expenses related to transport, food, and accommodation during activities and events.
We welcome everyone who would like to help – regularly or from time to time. Completing the application form takes approximately 5–10 minutes.
Once we receive your application, we will contact you to get to know you better and discuss the next steps. Completing the form does not automatically mean becoming a member of the volunteer team, but it helps us better understand how you would like to contribute to the work of the Mission.
Before completing the form, you can familiarise yourself with our organisation’s policies on the Mission’s website www.olavsmisjon.no. By completing the form, you confirm that you have familiarised yourself with the following documents:
